Growing nicely and descriptive text (feedback?)
« on: October 09, 2007, 01:20:31 AM »
It brings me great joy to see the community growing at this gentle place.

Some of you might be surprised at the statistics:

We have less than 20 members yet ...

yesterday (in it's third day of operation) the site enjoyed 145 unique visitors

27 of these were returning having visited before

between them they loaded approximately 500 pages (hard to tell exactly Joey and I have been loading hundreds to get set up).

We're not even listed in google yet (but will be soon):

"vipassana forum at vipassanaforum.net is a vibrant online community or sangha of Buddhist inspired meditation practitioners. A place to enjoy each others company and support on the path through discussion boards, sharing resources and more."

feedback on that text anyone?

In the Dhamma,

Matthew

"Vipassana forum at vipassanaforum.net is a vibrant online community or Sangha, of Buddhist inspired meditation practitioners. A place to enjoy each others company, share Dhamma and support on our paths - through discussion boards, sharing resources and more."

It's very nice to be part of this.  My aspiration would be for this site to be a safe heaven and quick point of support for our members and a welcoming and informative resource for all.

Now we are ... unfortunately with a slightly earlier version of that text ^ not prefaced by the words "vipassana forum at..." - which were specifically added to enhance the listing of the site.

vipassanaforum.net currently appears at:

93 out of 344,000 results if you search: vipassana forum
1 out of 124 results if you search: vipassanaforum

Being in the top 100 is a good start. Once google's robots catch up with the updated description we will almost certainly be in the top 10 results.
