Smooth Meditation Alarm Clock mp3

Dear fellow sitters,

a long time ago, I was looking for a solution how to precisely measure the sitting time, without interrupting too harshly (like setting an alarm clock, which you have to turn off manually). I ended up with the creation of two audio tracks. One is exactly 5 minutes of silence, the other one plays a gong (actually it is Tibetan sound bowls). I created these myself and give them to you, so you may use it without any legal or ethical problems.

Examples of How to use:

1. Burn a CD
First twelve times the silence track, then the gong. This results in 60 minutes of silence follow by a gong.
If you want to meditate 45 minutes, start playing the CD at track 4. For 20 minutes, start at track 9.

2. Create a playlist
Either you create the playlist (e.g. for your mp3 player) equally to the CD, or you can create individual playlists of different lengths. Just add the silence track as many times as desired, after that the gong.

Or create new mp3 tracks by putting together those two. Or record it to a tape. But with unfamiliar equipment, check the volume first before sitting.

A new friend (thanks G!) brought it to my attention that this idea might be useful to others, so hopefully it is.

Happy meditating!

THis is what I use. It requires a computer, which I assume everyone has here.

I downloaded the "Timeleft" software. This is a clock-stopwatch-timer-reminder app.

I also downloaded a few "singing bowls" sounds and selected the one that I liked the most.

Then I set the timer to ring after the desired time with the gong sound I like the most.
