Synchronicity on the path.
« on: June 09, 2018, 09:41:33 PM »
Hi friends,

I'm just wondering if anyone here has any stories of synchronicity they might like to share, or even if anyone would like to share what they think about the topic. Ever since I started to go on retreat and meditate I feel this phenomenon has played a role in my life and guided me along my way. In fact, I notice moments of synchronicity don't show themselves when I become undisciplined and lost in phases of old habits and addiction. Whenever I come back to live by my truth, moments like below seem to show up quite regularly and they always make me smile and give me encouragement.

I'd like to give a recent example. The other day I scheduled an interview which I hope will lead me to studying music at University this September. The interview is set for the 19th of June at 11AM, I even got to set the date and time. At the same time I am reading a novel called "A Suitable Boy" at the moment, by an Indian writer called Vikram Seth. Perhaps some of you have read it? It's a wonderful story and a testament to the human spirit and imagination. My friend found a copy of the book on the street when he was in India, he read it then passed it on to me.

I've actually had the book for a few years, and recently finally made my attempt at reading it. The interesting part is just 2 days after I set my interview. I read a passage in the book where a character called Mr. Maitra visits a Hindu holy man called Sanika Baba and asks him for a method to find peace. Sanika Baba says he will but can't at that particular time. Mr. Maitra becomes impatient and asks for a particular time he will be shown the way to find peace. Sanika Baba tells him to come back on the 19th of June at 11AM.

 ;)

It's only a coincidence. It has happened to me a few times and has nothing to do with being on the path.

That's fair if you want to think that. For me it is a meaningful coincidence. A reminder that I am on the right path. A message from spirit and salute to the action I'm taking.

There may be coinciding incidents but never any accidents.  Thats my belief.
I mean what are the chances of that happening statistically?

I once read a book called The Alchemist.  Since then I see synchronicities everywhere. I see patterns everywhere.

The more I connect things, the more i see things.
Basically the more open I am, the more things seem to coincide/synchronise and ultimately harmoneyes.

Some of it could just be my imagination though, who knows?

Most people, most of the time are not very "present". Instead they are either lost in contemplating the past or the future - neither of which exist. Putting aside these habitual thought patterns, and coming into the present moment, I find synchronicities - moments of alignment with "what is" - are to be found almost everywhere.

In this example it seems to me it is more of a coincidence that ego is making into a story about progress. The use of the idea that "spirit" is giving you a message leads me to conclude this. Synchronicity is found in the selfless present, not in stories, in my experience.

Nice story though. It may be you scanned that page and your subconscious took in the time and date without you having any conscious awareness of it.
