Question about an experience
« on: October 13, 2017, 02:44:43 PM »
Hello,

I have a question regarding an experience i had while meditating:
What is this thing that feels like it's in the head area that wants to just go this way or that? It grabs at thoughts or feelings, etc. Feels like it's caged animal that doesn't want to rest. Anything I try to do it immediately reacts to. Anyone else have a similar experience?

It seems you are describing the reactive mind… the conditioned and automatic tendencies we all have... to judge what happens inside and outside, to grab what we like, to push away what we don’t like.

It does indeed feel like a monster sometimes. Keep watching. Don’t feed it  :D  what you feed (practice) grows stronger…

Vipassana is experiencing whatever is experienced in the body  and the mind . Accept that experience both in the body and the mind as it is.Remain equanimus  with the experience. Just do nothing . Nothing means nothing. Maintaining equanimity with all the experiences at all the time is Vipassana.  Am I right
