Has meditation aided your sleep?

Hi guys,
I’m a university student working on a project to help insomnia sufferers. I’m fascinated by the concept of meditation aiding people.
I was wondering if anyone here has suffered from sleeping disorders and what is your approach as well as findings? Feel free to message me.

i have mixed reports. when i do breathing-based meditation at night, either when lying in bed or sitting, i find that i become aware how tired/sleepy i am and fall asleep. the calming of the mind and body helps me fall asleep.

sometimes, if i'm not tired, then a more mindful approach actually makes me stay awake. i find that a few hours have passed - it's 2 o'clock and i'm still not asleep.

I used to have for only few months(3-4) but then I started meditation and exercise it is no longer the issue for me.
