"De-mystifying Mindfulness" -- Free online course
« on: December 01, 2016, 11:04:17 PM »
Hello everyone...

I've decided to register for a course entitled:
'De-mystifying Mindfulness'. It's hosted by the University of Lieden
and is offered via the coursera.org website (which offers free
online courses)

This course starts on 5 December and the detailed syllabus makes
me think it's a well structured course.   I'm sure i'm going to find
it very interesting...  and i suspect most of the membership here
would too.  There's an _optional_ assignment/assessment in week
6.  So if you fancied doing that you could.  But it's optional it's,
it's not a commitment.

Fancy joining me ?  It's a minimal commitment in terms of
time and energy - Just 3 hours per week.  There's a 30-45 daily
meditation commitment which everyone is probably already
making.  It's some videos and some reading.  I think it
will just be interesting and thought provoking.

So the idea is...
(1) that you follow this link and check out the course info:
   https://www.coursera.org/learn/mindfulness
(2) register with coursera and select this course
    "De-mystifying Mindfulness"
(3) then we can chit-chat the course and it's themes...
in this thread ... in weeks that follow (if you fancy it)

be happy :)

I would guess the University of Lieden would not know what mindfulness is.

It is very good marketing initiative introducing Buddhism and mindfulness. Once a seed is placed early in life, these students are bound to return after getting tired and dissatisfied by samsara.
Take everything I say with a grain of salt.
