Meditation. How often ?

im meditating every other day for 40mins. What is better? to do it every day but with less time for example every day for 20min. Or every other day for 40mins ?

Maybe do it 30 minutes everyday? Attending a retreat is strongly recommended, since it would provide a strong base to build on through daily practice.

Why don't you experiment trying it one way for a while, then the other way for a while, then decide for yourself which is better?

What you'll probably find is sometimes it seems better no matter what you do, and sometimes it seems worse no matter what you do.

The only certainty is everything changes.

Trying to understand it is better to keep consistency that you do it every day.. or on every other days..  some days im exercising and other days im meditating.. i think it is good 'mix', but i feel that exercising (even running long distance) doesnt 'clean' my mind like ~30minutes of meditation.. but it has other benefits... so it's impossible to me to train for example 1.05 how and that day meditate for 30mins.. it would took lot of time.. talking about retreat... i really want, but i don't feel ready for 10days of silence.... but this is another topic...

Personally, if I miss a day of working out, I feel like I got a little bit extra recovery, whereas if I miss a day of meditation, I miss it. So, based on that, I would suggest 20 minutes meditation every day, and shorten your run to accommodate it. 

But I agree with Goof-x that you should figure out what works for you.

It's pretty simple. If you are serious about establishing your mindfulness in every day life, you should try to sit 60-120 mins a day. Everything else is just playing around.
Continuity is a major key to develop right awareness.

I Meditate around 40 Minutes every day, sometimes twice a day,
thrice some days.
60 to 120 Minutes sounds like good advice to become Mindful.
I was also told 5 Minutes Meditation immediately after we
wake up is equivalent to 30 Minutes Meditation during the
rest of the day.

but in other way, dont you caught yourself s in that you somehow are addicted to meditation ?

Every day..  Definitely!!!!   Even if it's only 10 - 20 minutes...  A daily practice is much more beneficial than alternating days..  Make it a habit so it can start to be incorporated into your daily life.  The time spent in meditation will grow as you become more experienced with it.  In the beginning, short times many times a day is better than longer sits with less days..
