Next step?
« on: April 08, 2015, 05:31:51 PM »
Hi everyone!

I've been meditating for a while now, never had a teacher, only what I learned from books, internet and practicing myself. I now think I've reached a stage where everything is peacefull, mind is quiet and I get more energy from meditating. I don't know what this stage is called but I guess I could its becoming one with your Buddha nature? (or maybe I'm not even close to that, I'm just like very relaxed and peacefull in a world of nothingness).

Now I've already searched for a teacher but where I live I can't find anyone xD So now I want to go deeper and explore further in my mind but I don't know how to go further from here. Is it something that just happens with time or do I maybe need some other stimulation to trigger it?

You are best to find a teacher or teacher(s), and ideally do some intensive retreats which is the best way to find a teacher or teacher(s).

We could probably advise you on where to look, but it will depend on your location and willingness or ability to travel and/or take time off.

I live in Belgium and yes I'm willing to travel and take time off but I wouldn't really know what kind of teacher I'm looking for xD

I found a couple of options in Belgium.

Otherwise England is probably your best bet as you're obviously fluent in English. I assume you are fluent in French also but I don't know much about what's available there but have included a couple of links for well known teachers.  Have a look at the links below and see what resonates with you, let us know if you have questions.

I stumbled across this one in the Netherlands also http://www.imsb.org/venue/unnamed-venue/ I've sat a retreat without Shaila and can recommend her.

Wow nice, thank you very much! I like the first page you send the most, I will probably try and go there. I'm amazed how fast you could find these pages, always when I tried searching I came across pages that seemed kinda weird and I didn't trust them :p

If you are Dutch-speaking you can look here:

The technique is different from what is taught at a centre of Goenka. From what I read on this website, I get the impression that the result is the same - for the first months or years.
