Repeating pattern of stillness and laughing and crying
« on: February 25, 2015, 07:25:33 PM »
Stillness. Laughing (no not just a smile. It's really laughing hard) and crying at the same time. Thoughts appearing telling me: You are home.

What's going on here?

Hi Salamander

I don't KNOW (and I doubt if somebody can really tell you).

My assumption is, however, that some sort of opening process is happening as it does on many different levels along the path.

Anyway, I would recommend the basic instruction of not paying so much attention on the "story" (e.g. What is happening to me) but to focus on what is happening on the sense doors without conceptualizing: thinking, happiness is arising, sadness has arisen, etc.

I woke up today and I still have spontaneous emotional outbursts and I don't know why (but that is somehow ok).
I just wanted to write that down.

That's right, don't bother too much. It is just a side effect of meditation.
Other side effects might result in levitation or waking up on another planet.  ;)
Strange stuff happens when meditating. Some things can't even be described in words.
This is how I deal with situations like yours (at least I try to): stay calm, observe, keep up a spirit of appreciating equanimity.

And never loose your sense of humor ...
