Alexander Technique Rules
« on: October 27, 2014, 10:47:04 PM »
I'm working on Alexander Technique which is blowing me away. My posture and breathing have been poor. This is making a huge difference in my life, and certainly helping me with mediation.

I think I was mistaken to think that trying to relax my muscles was a form of aversion and violation of equanimity, but now, when I get into the right position and relax further in to that right position, that's what opens up my emotions. Tense muscles = locked down emotions.

Still learning.

Hi, where are you learning? I feel some back pain while meditating, does it help?

I'm learning from some PDF books I downloaded. I'll see if I can get them to you if you can't do this yourself.

As far as back pain, is it really bad? There can be some intense muscle discomfort that isn't a real medical problem while sitting. And that's good to practice with- staying equanimous and observing it. Maybe you have something more serious?

let me know about the PDFs

Do you exercise in a way that strengthens the back, for example swimming regularly? Most people suffer back pain sitting because our backs are week from sitting in chairs.
