Hey everyone hope u all had a good new year,i just wanted some advice on how meditation can help us see cause and effect, cheers chris.

With time you can come to understand dependent origination, an example via meditation would be witnessing your emotive reactions to your thoughts.

So reaction to the thoughts that pop  can create emotions, vice versa,ive noticed this

Cause and effect can only be observed in the frame work of once own body and mind.

One can observe what kind of seed they plant that kind of tree they will get.

How long have you been meditating?  If you are just a beginner, don't worry about gaining insights yet.  First, develop the ability to focus your mind.  Only when your mind is stable will you be ready for meditation that aims to gain spiritual insight.  Trying to gain insight before your mind is steady is like trying to hold up a bare lamp against the wind.

Meditation will help you understand cause and effect because a sharpened and polished mind can perceive truth.  The more polished the mind, the more profound the truths it can unravel.
