Breathing awareness
« on: August 05, 2008, 03:03:43 AM »
Hello all!

Since I have been practicing breathing awareness, I noticed that all the time, except for one session, I breath mainly through the left nostril.  I noticed this during the one session I was breathing through the right nostril.

Today my aware mind has found a way not not let go that easily by hanging on to my breath by being aware of the whole breath, including transitions.  Actually, the out-in transition is most interesting, especially if you breath very lightly.  The lighter the breath, the more you feel turbulence.  And at the out-in  transition you can actually feel the turbulence, composed of warmer air, come in, for a brief fraction of a second, followed by the fresh ambient air.  It is much easier to keep focus when you notice such phenomenons...

Shanti!

can you learn to breathe first through one nostril and then through the other? Once you have mastered alternating you could move on to coordinating.
