Is it ok to use back support while mediating?
« on: November 12, 2012, 01:59:57 AM »
I've always had back problems, and I find it very very hard to meditate without using a support for my back. If I don't use one I feel bad, I can't relax and thus cannot meditate.

So, is it "valid" or ok to use a back support for meditation? I personally find that it is, but I want to read a different POV

As long as you ensure that your back is straight, it should be OK. But, it is preferable to let go of the support after some period of regular practice, unless you have a medical condition. Sometimes you can get sleepy if you keep using back support. So, watch out for drowsiness due to that.
Let's go beyond this illusion, shall we?
