Direction while meditating

Is there any specific direction one must face while meditating....Do the magnetic poles affects one's meditation?

Better to meditate towards Mecca - hedge your bets  :D

You don't need to be in any special posture, position, direction, orientation or anything else to meditate. They can help but none are essential.

South is worst. East is best :)  (but don't care too much)
