Equanimity

One thing i dont understand about equanimity, isnt tending towards happiness,love veering away from being equanimous?

Examine the happiness and love for clinging and attachment. The bliss of living in the moment and equanimity/non-clinging is quite different to the ordinary forms of such we experience.
