There might even be truth to that, that in death, just as life, you will most likely get what you assume, as in life being a huge self-fulfilling prophecy. Maybe death being the same? :-D Would be cool, because then we could choose what we get ;-D As with the genie, with my 3 wishes I want to wish another 1000 wishes each :-D

When choosing what to wear for your birthday, you need to ask yourself a number of important questions. Will my clothes match? Will my outfit clash with other people's outfits? Will my clothes make me look awesome? And quite possibly the most obvious question of all: will my clothes make me look like the green screen used for post-production movie special effects?

;D ;D ;D

p.s. there are many more, esp. the gif's are hilarious, but not sure how to insert them here ;)

It`s meaningful because it makes the ridicolousy obvious to me that we expect anyone else to "help us accept", when all the responsibility and power lies within us and ourselves only anyway and that is what the Buddha has pointed to also, yet people ask for help - but when a cat does it, the ridiculousness becomes obvious (at least to me) and I have to laugh (also about myself) hehe :-)

That probably because I then imagine the cat sitting there, with its indifferent look akin to cats, "ey man. why aint you helping me? now.", sitting there waitingly for some magic to happen, with indifferently surprised cat-eyes :-D

Hey, Attachless  :) You seem to know both people and cats well!  :) I like a saying by Eckhart Tolle: I lived with many spiritual teachers. All of them were cats <3
(And i agree completely with your analyzes, maybe Westerners are even more scr**ed in that department because most of us 'breast fed' the idea of Savior with our mother's milk...)

I'm not sure about that. I can pray to things that on first glance live outside of my self. A person, a picture, an idea. Even though i know that what i am praying to is a part in me and/or everything is me from beginning. Or maybe by praying to something i make it part of me somehow? It's difficult to explain.

Example: If you can't find the strength and love to cope with a situation, if you pray to the beloved, to your sister, your dog, your friend, you can evoke something in yourself, that you haven't been able to find before. You find you capacity to love and can turn it towards the moment you are struggling with. Does that make any sense to you?

I just wanted to mention: I think it's okay to pray to something in difficult times. And the cat seems to have a difficult time ;)

There's a long way to even realize compassion is in your hands, and another to actually "achieve" it.

I think i know what you mean, that it's a way to internalize something which appears to be separate from the Self, but in fact isn't, right?
It's an interesting way to look at it... Especially if applied to kitties ;)

Brooke, my enlightened cat says, "Petting and not petting are a fallicious, dualist construct. There is only petting, if you are not petting me now, you will be."  :D

:D :D :D

In some movie there was a line (paraphrasing) : there are two kinds of people, ones who apoligize to you if you bump into them, and the other ones who yell at you "be careful!" if they bump into you... My cat is of the latter kind and i am of first, at least when she's in question  :D
She's a spoiled, demanding little brat and i adore her.  :) (I have a dog too and dynamic between them is hilarious, the cat managed to tame the dog   :D)

(This is not my kitty, just a pic i like ;))
