Shinzen Young's view on vipassana meditation. Very good and inspiring.
It seems that I'm one of those who experiences spirituality by beliefs, wishfull thinking and projections, but at least I believe the right things! LOL
almost forgot to put out the link http://www.mbcttrainingen.nl/Resources/Purpose%20and%20Method%20ofVipass.doc

I love Young's writing that I have seen (not much) - very direct and clear. This is a man who has seriously investigated what it means to tread the path.

Thanks for the link Flipasso.

That was a good read, Flip.
Another great sign post and also a stimulus to go hop on the cushion.   :)

He has written a lot of great articles - available on his website http://shinzen.org - but as far as published material that you can buy, it all seems to be audio. As far as I know he's only done one book "Break through pain" (with an accompanying CD), which I used to own but passed onto someone who needed it much more than me, and who found it really useful.

I can thoroughly recommend his 14 CD set "The Science of Enlightenment". Like his articles, I found it to be exceptionally lucid, insightful and inspirational, and he approaches the subject matter in a manner that is easy for the Western mind to comprehend, although not dumbed down. I think people with a scientific / analytic mind can particularly benefit from his teaching style.
