Does any one know where i can find the metta recording?
« on: November 05, 2008, 08:03:52 PM »
I thought it would be nice to have Goenka's Metta chants, as timer.

i miss his voice.

i mean, i can mimic his voice, i can keep pretty deep in my vocal range... but it wouldn't be the same.

does any one have a transcript of what the pali chants are?

i really want to study that language.

Go to :
http://diydharma.org/about-us

Then in the search window, enter Goenka and you should find some of the audio (I don't know if they are all there though) in the search results.

I despise his singing...I already examined that. I know why: I hate gas lawmowers

Aversion deserves Examination   ;D

I'm a musician, and when I first heard Goenkajis chanting, I was ... surprised ...
Then I got used to it, and I found out: he has a powerful voice. After all, he's not a musician, he's a yogi.

With Metta, Stefan

gas lawnmowers?

never mind...

that was funny what you said about attachment.

yeah i just have an intense curiosity when it comes to languages in general.

thats the reasons why i spent the last 8 years learning Japanese, even though i don't live in japan nor do i have any japanese friends. *except my last boss, who was awesome*

it's like the Latin of India. *why does it seem like ancient languages are more appealing to the ear?*

Because you don't get automobile adverts in Latin or Sanskrit?

actually that would be very awesome to hear an advert in latin.
if it sounded like a chant rather than some one just speaking really fast.
of course it should have subtitles since no one would understand latin fluently unless they're in the vatican, and that's only a small audience.

I wonder if they've ever done bollywood movies in dead languages.
like the passion of the Christ. (i'm just pulling stuff out of the air now people)
umm but yeah. i wish i could find a program to convert mp3 to m4r(iphone ringtone) so i could turn "buvadhu sabba mangalamX3) on my timer so i'll just set it for an hour and that will go off.

Two old acquaintances speak fluent Latin. To hear them converse is most odd.
